How much crazy can you take at 10 a.m.?

UPDATE: Well that was mostly civil and people were pretty well behaved ... highly disappointing since I woke up early for it and all. I was ready for some fights. Guess people get more fired up after dinner rather than breakfast ....

I am usually not one for political rallies or town-hall meetings or whatever the kids are calling them these days because I can’t stand most politicians. There are other things, too, like not really liking party politics or radical viewpoints (and lets face it, moderates are not usually the people at rallies), but it basically just comes back to not being able to stand politicians.

I am also not a fan of mornings either. I generally don’t get to sleep until 4 a.m. or later, so 10 a.m. and I are not very good friends.

Paging Congressman Broun

Hmmm ... I wonder if Congressman Paul Broun is as worried about a proposal that could put actual American military troops on actual American streets as he is about the "national security force" led by President-elect Barack Obama that's currently bivouacked in Broun's brain -- and nowhere else.

By way of mercifully brief review, Broun was recently in high dudgeon about an Obama reference to a national security force. If only Broun had listened to the relevant speech for more than 20 seconds, he would have found out the reference was to a proposal to boost public service efforts in this country and around the world.

But because he only heard the words "national security force" Broun denounced the Obama proposal as Hitlerian and Marxist.
