Congress

It's more than just a game now

Thank God for Congressmen Lynn “10 Commandments” Westmoreland, R-Georgia (corrected from original version); Neil Abercrombie, D-Hawaii; and Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, who are making sure our country’s priorities are in order. Never mind the challenges of Iraq, our economy, our education, our environment. Gasoline and food prices, health care issues, crime all take a back seat to what is most important --- the NCAA football national championship as determined by the Bowl Championship Series.

Westmoreland, the man who pushed for legislation to post the 10 Commandments in the U.S. House of Representatives and in the Senate but couldn’t remember the 10 Commandments when asked by the insightful Stephen Colbert, now has found a new cause.

Your tax dollars at work

Wow. So apparently there is nothing else going on in country right now because the U.S. Congress has the time to launch an investigation into the BCS system.

Yes you read that right. CONGRESS is investigating COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

Georgia’s very own Lynn Westmoreland said, “We shouldn’t have to argue about who the champion is. That should be decided on the field.”

Yeah it should be decided on the field not on the floor of the House of Representatives. What’s next? Is the Supreme Court going to be brought in as refs for the game? If the high court can decide a presidential election, why not a football game?
