Twitter has finally unveiled a plan to make money off the popular site.

Basically, advertisements will show up when a user searches using specific keywords. For instance, if you are searching for coffee, a Starbucks ad might appear.

These "promoted tweets" begin showing up today.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the ad pricing formula remains a work in progress and that "the company will start by charging marketers per thousand impressions of their ads. Over time, it plans to move to a more complex model, charging based on how users interact with the messages."

Before we get to some Georgia-related items, a little comparison for you this morning.

After one day on Twitter, I’m up to 82 followers. After one day on Twitter, ESPN’s Erin Andrews is up to 6,522 followers. Hmm. Go figure.

I don’t watch “Dancing With The Stars,” which will feature Ms. Andrews this season, but I gotta say how can you root against Buzz Aldrin?

I’m not the most tech-savvy guy around.
