False alarm on Broun opponent

Christopher Cates, an Atlanta surgeon, is running for Congress. But there is some confusion about which district.

I just got a tip this afternoon that Cates had filed to run as a Republican in the 10th District, currently held by our very own Rep. Paul Broun. Cates’ FEC file does indeed list him as a candidate in the 10th.

The conservative blog Peach Pundit ran with it, passing along a rumor that Tom Perdue, a veteran operative who ran Sen. Saxby Chambliss’ campaigns, would helm Cates’. That would make him a formidable opponent for Broun.

However, a woman at Emory University, Cates’ former employer, pointed me to his Web site, still under construction, which says Cates is running in the 9th. That’s Rep. Nathan Deal’s district. Deal, of course, is running for governor, and just about every white male Republican over the age of 25 is lined up to take a crack at it already.

Cates’ Web site says his campaign headquarters is in Blairsville, which is in the 9th.

Looks like a false alarm.

Cates

Seems pretty incompetent of him then. What a dope.

Also Tom Perdue looks like he's lined up another turkey to take a bunch of money from and do nothing for.

UPDATE

Just got off the phone with Perdue, who said Cates is in fact running in the 9th and corrected paperwork has been filed with the FEC.

"The day it was filed, Chris and Paul Broun were at an event together, so that turned out to be a nice joke," he said.

Cates joins a crowded cast of, we think, 11 announced candidates for the open seat, and Perdue said he wouldn't be surprised if seven or eight ended up qualifying.

On the issues, Perdue said health care will be a major one for Cates, as will jobs and the economy. They all tie together because Cates believes health care reform will impede an economic recovery, Perdue said.

As for the carpetbagging issue raised on Peach Pundit, Perdue said Cates has family roots in North Georgia and runs heart clinics in Hiawasee, Blairsville and Dawsonville and owns a home in Blairsville, so even though he was raised in north metro Atlanta, he is familiar with the area.

Cason Sisk

At least Dr. Paul Broun has one GOP legitimate primary opponent in a young solar power businessman and golf pro named Cason Sisk who is also an engineering student at UGA.

Dan Matthews

Dr. Broun will thump CS 80%

Dr. Broun will thump CS 80% to 20%.

98 percent to 2 percent ...

98 percent to 2 percent ... assuming Mr. Sisk actually qualifies.

Hair Transplant

Hair Transplant includes the medical and surgical treatment of various forms of hair loss. The most common cause of hair loss is Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA), also known as male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness.
